And probably for the same reason he couldn't just nullify the curse by himself and had to be brought to some big baddie to be healed for basically no previously explained reason.

So one could say that it’s because subconsciously asta controls who he allows it magic to drain and at that moment she didn’t come off as a threat so he permitted her to touch it with her magic.

To be honest finral’s portals should be negated the moment his swords comes in contact with the space but it’s not because asta is subconsciously allowing the magic to work for his benefit

I think it's the actual curse rather from curse that cause by magic. Because just like the grimoire, if the user die, the curse should disappear as well if it was create by magic. But the fact that it still in effect was because it was the actual curse.

He doesn't need to attack to nullify the magic. In the episode where the Wizard King asked him for help in order to get info about the traitor he just touch their heads with the hilt of the sword and it nullified their magic
